How cropping works

This sets the PDF's standard "CropBox" — the region viewers display. Modern viewers (Adobe Reader, Chrome, Firefox, and this site's own previews) respect it correctly. A small number of older or unusual PDF tools may still show the original full page — tested and confirmed working correctly with the most common viewers.

Privacy

Cropping happens entirely in your browser. Your PDF is never uploaded to a server.

Real reasons to crop a PDF

Trimming a shipping label PDF (Amazon, Flipkart, or a courier's generated label) down to just the label area so it prints at the right size instead of on a full A4 sheet with wasted space. Removing scanner shadows and black borders that flatbed scanners leave around the edges of a document. Cutting oversized margins from a PowerPoint-to-PDF export so slides fill the page better on screen. Reducing wide book-page margins to fit content more comfortably on a tablet or e-reader screen.

One honest gap versus some other crop tools: this one only takes manual margin values in millimeters — it doesn't automatically detect where your content starts and ends. For a shipping label or a document with a known, consistent margin, that's straightforward. For scans where the content position varies page to page, you'll want to measure a representative page first.

Crop PDF FAQs

Does cropping delete the trimmed content permanently?

No — it changes which region is displayed (the CropBox), the underlying page content is preserved. This is the standard PDF way of cropping and is how most online crop tools work.

Will every PDF viewer show the crop?

Most modern viewers (Adobe Reader, Chrome, Firefox, and this site) respect it correctly. A minority of older or specialized tools default to showing the full original page instead.

Can I crop a password-protected PDF?

Not yet. Unlock it first, then upload it here.

Does this auto-detect margins, or do I have to measure them myself?

You measure and enter them yourself, in millimeters. This tool doesn't scan the page to automatically detect where content starts and ends — some competitor tools offer that, this one doesn't yet.

Can I use this to size a shipping label PDF correctly?

Yes — if the label sits in a consistent position on the page (common for Amazon, Flipkart, or courier-generated labels), measuring the margins once and applying them works well.

Is my file uploaded anywhere?

No — everything runs in your browser using JavaScript.
