Guides

Practical answers to real problems people run into with document and PDF tools — not generic filler.

Available guides

More guides — fonts, hyperlinks, and use-case walkthroughs for resumes, assignments, and contracts — are planned as each is written and tested against real documents.

What makes these different from a typical help article

Every guide here starts from something we actually tested, not a rewritten version of what other sites already say. The Word-to-PDF guide exists because we found and fixed a real formatting bug during testing (Devanagari text rendering as blank boxes) and wrote up what that revealed about font handling in general. The merge-order guide exists because file-picker sort order is a genuinely common, genuinely confusing failure mode we kept running into. The A4-vs-Letter guide explains a size difference most people have never had a reason to think about until it causes a printing problem.

Guides FAQ

Are these guides specific to DocVelora's tools, or general advice?

Both. Each guide explains a real, general problem (formatting shifts, merge order, page size mismatches), and links to the specific DocVelora tool that helps with it where relevant — but the underlying advice applies regardless of which tool you end up using.

How often are guides updated?

Each guide is revisited when something changes in the tool it covers, or when testing turns up something new worth adding — not on a fixed schedule.

Can I suggest a topic for a future guide?

Guides are prioritized based on real, common problems found during testing — fonts, hyperlinks, and use-case walkthroughs for specific document types are next in line.

The guides are step-by-step instructions. The blog covers what we found building and testing these tools — including the operations that cannot run in a browser at all, and what actually broke when we ran real documents through Word to PDF.
