How it works

Three simple steps

1

Select files

Choose every PDF you want combined, in the order you want them.

2

Merge

Your browser combines them into a single PDF instantly.

3

Download

Save the merged PDF or continue with another tool.

Ordering

Files are merged in the order you select or drop them. Need to reorder or remove one before merging? Use the full PDF Workspace instead — or read the guide on getting merge order right if your files keep coming out in the wrong sequence.

Privacy

Merging happens entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Your files are never uploaded to a server.

When merging PDFs actually comes up

A merge is rarely the whole task — it's usually a step before sending, filing, or signing something. Common real cases: combining a signed contract with its exhibits into one file before filing; putting scanned ID, proof-of-address, and supporting documents into a single packet for a visa, loan, or rental application instead of five separate attachments; joining chapters or sections written by different contributors into one report; and reassembling a document that was split apart for editing back into its final form.

If the job also needs page numbers or a watermark afterward, doing all three in the PDF Workspace in one pass saves downloading and re-uploading the same file between separate tools.

Merge PDF FAQs

Is there a limit on how many PDFs I can merge?

No fixed limit — the practical limit is your device's available memory, since everything processes locally.

Can I merge password-protected PDFs?

Not yet. Unlock a protected PDF first, then upload it here.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. Merging happens entirely in your browser using JavaScript.

Can I choose the order the files are merged in?

Yes — select or drop files in the order you want them to appear. For more control, including reordering after upload, use the PDF Workspace.

Can I merge PDFs with page numbers or a watermark added at the same time?

Not on this single-purpose page — it only merges. The PDF Workspace does merge, page numbers, and watermark together in one export.

Does merging affect the quality of the original pages?

No. Merging copies each page's content into the new file as-is — nothing is re-rendered, compressed, or re-encoded.
